At Made To Roam, we’ve always believed that every dog deserves a great start—especially those finding their forever homes. So, when the chance came to partner with the San Francisco SPCA for a massive adoption event, we were all in.
The Mission: Giving Every Pup a Quality Start
We connected with the Director of Institutional Giving at SF SPCA about how we could best help. Our goal was simple: ensure every dog adopted had quality gear from the moment they left the shelter. That meant donating about 130 of our Virginia Mountains Everyday Leashes (in both 4ft and 6ft sizes).
The director shared their vision for the California Adopt-a-Pet Day event: "Our goal for the day is 100 adoptions – which would set a single day record for our shelter!" Hearing their ambition, we were thrilled to contribute. Our durable, secure leashes were included with every dog adoption, giving new families the peace of mind they needed for that crucial first walk home.
A Partnership Beyond Products
Our support didn't stop with the leashes. We were happy to promote California Adopt-a-Pet Day across our social channels, helping the SF SPCA and the over 150 participating shelters statewide reach their collective goal of 5,000 adoptions.
The excitement was contagious, and the event was a phenomenal success! Shortly after, we received confirmation that the leashes had arrived, and the anticipation built.
The Record-Breaking Day
The final numbers were truly incredible: 140 animals found loving homes, shattering the organization’s all-time single-day adoption record as of June 7th, 2025! Seeing those 36 dogs start their new lives safely with our gear reaffirms the core of our purpose.
